Three Mountain Passes
It had been a while since we had saw any Tour Cyclists. Late yesterday afternoon 2 guys pulled into
the campground. It took me about 10
minutes to go over and inquire about their ride. Matt and Don are on a Cross America Bike
Ride. It is always fun to swap stories
with fellow Tour Cyclists (even if our bikes are tucked safely at home this
time). Good luck guys on the rest of your journey. As a fellow Tour Cyclist said to us as we
were completing our Cross Canada Ride, savour the last few days of your ride,
not everyone can say that they have ridden across a continent.
Today we left Idaho, entered Wyoming, left Wyoming,
re-entered Idaho, left Idaho and re-entered Wyoming. Sue’s route took us over 3 mountain passes
even though the most direct route would have been only one. Why?
Well, because we could! We were
surprised to find crops being grown in some of the high plateaus/valleys. One of the areas looked like really good
farmland.
Today the landscape began to change. We entered the snow- capped Rockies, the
Teton Range. We are just south of Grand Teton
National Park in Jackson Hole/Snake River KOA.
Distance Traveled = 263 km.
Wildlife Sightings = Yellow Warbler, Brewers Blackbird, Red-tailed Hawk,
Osprey, Squirrel, Chipmunk.
Entering Wyoming the first time
Lush Valley
Canola growing up in the hills...pardon the blurriness, we took this on the fly!
