To beat the crowds today, we left the campground early. It allowed us to get to the Visitor Centre at
Jenny Lake while parking was still available.
Our goal was to take a boat ride across the Lake. Things worked out well. We bought our tickets and walked right on…unlike
the people lined up when we returned mid-day.
From the boat dock we hiked up to Hidden Falls. Hidden Falls is a spectacular cascading falls
that drops 100 feet. Our viewing was
special…we were early enough that not many people interrupted our views…translation…the
‘selfie’ crowd had not yet arrived. From
the falls we hiked (mountain climbed) up to Inspiration Point. The views were amazing of the mountains
behind us and of Jenny Lake far below.
Was I inspired…not sure…but the hike up was well worth it!
On the way down we again stopped at Hidden Falls. The ‘selfie’ crowd had arrived. It is amazing how inconsiderate people can be
when it comes to taking their ‘own’ pictures while other people are waiting to
catch a glimpse of such a wonder.
Facebook and Instagram have not done us any favours, turning us into
even more of a ‘me first’ society.
The rest of the day was spent driving through the Park
stopping whenever possible to admire the views.
We could not have asked for a nicer way for us to celebrate our 38th
anniversary!
